Saving Parents Rights

The statewide multi-partisan effort to stop Senate Bill 5599 is under way. Started by just a couple of smart, tough, loving moms, the Reject 5599 effort is building into a monumental movement. Moms, dads, doctors, teachers, lawyers, and concerned community members from all walks of life have come together to tell the state of Washington, “You will not hide our children from us."

Parents are finding themselves at a precipice, where public schools and their outcomes are becoming more psychologically dangerous than any random back alley or online space. And, now they’re being targeted when pushing back against the rhetoric, confusing their children’s sense of self and identity.

The most significant piece of this bill comes in the form of requiring licensed organizations to hide runaway minors from their parents if the minor is seeking gender affirming or reproductive healthcare, until the department contacts the parents at a later time, while the child is provided experimental and irreversible treatments.

Many parents have noticed the vague references to a "good faith attempt" or "resolving the conflict", and all of them are questioning what either of those terms really mean. A "good faith attempt" can be a single meager phone call or a letter in the mail, days or weeks after damaging treatments have begun. And, judging by the government's treatment of parents in recent years, decerning parents have figured out that "resolving the conflict" will likely require them to stand aside silently as their child is quite literally torn apart.

While some may see this article as anti-transgender, nothing could be further from the truth. Consenting adults have the right to do what they want with their own bodies, as long as the medical community is doing what is right for their patients and is not knowingly causing medical harm. This isn't about transgenderism. This is about children, that study after study has shown do not have the mental acuity to make these permanent life altering decisions. And, it is about the parents who are supposed to love them and protect them from decisions they may regret for the rest of their lives.

At Reject5599.com you will find real information on why so many people are outraged that this bill was signed into law. Highlighting that this bill specifically targets children and families who have been impacted by Washington State’s gender-confusing and hyper-sexualized curriculums.

Few things rise above the partisanship and divide that many parents find themselves on either side of, but the safety of their children is certainly one of them. Rooms are filling with people of all colors, all nationalities, all sexualities, all ages, all religions (along with the non-religious) and all political persuasions, to pick up their copy of the  Referendum 101 petition. We hope you’ll join them.

To sign the petition, help in the effort to gather signatures, find a signing location, or support the effort with a generous contribution of any kind, please contact us at: Contact@27thLDrepublicans.org or visit Reject5599.com
